4 or 5 years ago a German RUclipsr made a video discussing in detail how Allied armies carefully avoided the Schwere Panzer Abteilung (Tiger Battalions) by tracking their locations with photo reconnaissance and avoiding those locations by bypassing them by 15 km or more when possible. Eisenhower’s intelligence branch determined that the Schwere Panzer Abteilung rarely had more than 10 km worth of fuel reserves and were essentially fixed units. This made them easy to avoid.

You have to remember that in the 1920s and 30s America, Britain, and really any western country all went through a period where people didn't like Jews...or Blacks...or Muslims...or gays...or the disabled...or the Irish. Really there was just a whole lot of people that society didn't like back then. Every Western country had their nat'l socialist group(s) and it wasn't really seen as a bad thing. Nazis gave Nat'l Socialists a bad name and the Nazis did horrible things. The real reason that communism and Nazism couldn't be tolerated is because they expanded across Europe like a plague. Both carried out horrible things and did awful things to dissenters, Jews, Gypsys, Gays, the infirm, women, etc. If Fascism stayed in Germany and only in Germany nobody would care. If Communism only stayed in Russia nobody would care. There was a third threat and that was the Japanese. They were a double-edged sword. They could be a great ally if you wanted to kill Russians but they could be your worst enemy if they attack your harbor and cripple your Pacific Fleet. Ideology does not necessarily lead to war but expansionism does. We don't care so much about your crimes against humanity as you're not trying to expand beyond your already declared borders.
